Pompeii and The Eruption of Vesuvius

      Pompeii was an ancient Roman town-city near moderen Naples, in the Campania region of Italy, in the territory of the comune of Pompeii. Pompeii, along with Herculaneum and many villas in the surrounding area, was mostly destroyed and buried under 4 to 6 m (13 to 12 ft) of volcanic ash and pumice in the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in AD 79.       By The 1st century AD, Pompeii was one of a number of towns near the base of the volcano, Mount Vesuvius. The area had a substantial population, which had grown prosperous from the region's renowned famously Herculaneum, also suffered damage or destruction during the 79 eruption. Battle of Dunkirk

       The Battle of Dunkirk was a military opertaion that took place in Dunkirk during the second world war. The battle was fought between the allies and nazi germany. As part of the batlle of France on Western Fort, the Battle of Dunkirk Was the defence and evacuation of British and Alied force in Europe from 26 May to 4 june 1940.       The War Office made the decision to evacuate British force on 25 May. in the nine days from 27 May-4 June 338,226 men escaped, including 139,997 French,Polish, and Belgian troops, together with a small number of Dutch soldier, aboard 861 vessels (of which 243 were sunk during the operation). B.H.Liddell Hart wrote that Fighter command lost 106 aircraft over Dunkirk and Luftwaffe lost about 135, some whinch were shot down by the French Navy and the Royal Navy.
